In 1964, Grossman, a Time magazine photographer, got what turned out to be the assignment of a lifetime. He was sent to shoot The Beatles' first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. That led to four years as the band's unofficial photographer.
Almost half a century later, comes a book: Places I Remember: My Time with The Beatles features a thousand of Grossman's images from those heady days. It's a limited edition, priced at $495. He provided CBS This Morning: Saturday with a sneak peek.
What great pictures!
