Its a simple $25 ($30 for the newer model) which you can load linux distros into and turn it into anything you want basically. It uses python but they now implemented java sdk into it so you can program java into it. I saw some guy build a robot with this and it was awesome. You could also turn it into a home media center or something. I recommend people buying it because there are limitless ideas you could use and build something out of this.
