Do you recycle?


I know I should have been recycling for the last 10 years Ive been living on my own but I haven't. I just started recently and last time I took my stuff in I got almost $40. Gonna take my stuff in tomorrow and we'll see how much I get. I have three large trash bags of plastic, one bag of aluminum and one small bag of glass.

Yes, I recycle. Not much a choice when we have no garbage pick up where I live. I have to separate glass, cans, plastic, and even shredded paper. The cans that when recycled, you get back a nickle a can, I put in the collection bin for the local SPCA.

Our town is wasteful. We only have one black garbage can for trash and one green one for lawn stuff.
Ive seen the different colored recycling bins that the city dumps in other towns, but not here.

Our single stream recycling is city wide, but they only pick up once every two weeks.

I don't but I really should, being the big environmental freak I am. So hypocritical, not even doing one of the simplest things to help the environment.

Thankfully we have curbside recycling, so it's easy for me to recycle.

No thanks. I just think it's unfair that in the town, they have curb side pick up and I don't. Heck, with the taxes I pay, they should pick up my garbage too. To add insult to injury, I have to PAY $3 per 30 gallon bag of regular garbage. You have to also purchase clear 30 gallon bags which are not cheap. They have to be clear so they can see you're not trying to sneak something that doesn't belong in the bag. There is only one town employee at the dump site and he just sits there and watches everyone struggle to lift their bags into the dumpster. Never once has he offered to help.

$3 per single solitary bag? Thats robbery. I have a bin that gets emptied every Tuesday and my landlord pays the bill.

I hate that!! We would spend Christmas with Grandparents when we lived close to them. We would always haul away the paper trash so they wouldn't have to pay. And that was in town!!

Stumbled upon this thread, we have the recycling bins now. Finally caught up with the times I suppose. I still take mine in to the recycling center because I want the money

I recycle when I can and often go thrifting for stuff I don't want to buy new that doesn't make sense (except for cleanliness sake).
