What are your views towards Reddit? Do you think the site is toxic or overall have you had a good experience?

Reddit is a dogshit website that monopolized the internet forum and drove one of the most important historical forms of communication on the internet to a shadow of ita old self. Fuck reddit.

It was a thing when it came out, but as soon as it became one of the most popular forum in the world, everything went downhill.

The mascot is pretty cool though, i love it!

There's an incredible amount of inappropriate content. While there is some moderation, the sheer volume of content means that almost anything can be found, including pornography, violent material, hate speech, and suicide tips. Not a place where I want to be.

Depends, some good reading and comments and on the other hand, you thinking why and what the flip flop flap. Just that traffic on Reddit is crazy more than forums actively. ALso to mention anyone can make their own group and say whatever they want to post and say to the point that mods/staff just don't care or they have their hands full to able to not take it down.

I think it's grand, I'm only really subscribed to a handful of subreddits so I don't really encounter much of the typical problems people have with it (outside of internet nerds arguing but that's always gonna happen).
Though I have heard about some of the seriously questionable bits of the sites history, like the Jailbait subreddit and such, so it's hard to argue against it being a dump :v

Agreed that Reddit and additionally Discord kinda contributed to the death of forums though. Least we have places like this to bring us back to the better times!

As a frequent user of it, I quite like it. If you stay with the more "positive" subreddits, it will be a pleasant experience and you won't come across any big issues. It does have a few issues but they seemed to have improved a lot over the past few months/years.

Like apathy mentioned, there were a few dodgy subreddits that have been taken down but I'm sure there's more crap on there that hasn't been discovered as yet.

In my experience, it's been okay; however, that's largely because I stick to a couple of niche subreddits with decent communities. I guess that's allowed me to avoid most of the toxicity :P .

But still, I can't help but think that it's just a fastfood version of forumming, with: a) none of the customisability, and b) unpopular opinions getting downvoted into oblivion.

I see it was down today.

I browse it for anything of interest, though I can see some messed up stuff on it.

I find it boring being on Reddit. I used to visit the site, but I cannot do anything much there.
