From the past three years, a stray cat called Lucifer has been coming to my house to get fed. Although back then he didn't come as much, he did come every day starting from January last year and over time it became a concern for me and my mum, as it appears that he is abandoned by his owner. What's annoying me is that the SSPCA cannot take the situation seriously because they say that cats are free to roam around and can only take in animals that are injured, after my mum phoned them up - twice. They also didn't take it seriously when they were told that the cat's fur is matted and has feral-like behaviour when he is liable to scratch and growls a lot. So, what do you think I should do? I can't let him be like this forever even though I like his company. I may also like to post a picture of him here so that you know what he looks like.

Lucifer is beautiful! I have found a site that may be able to help Lucifer.

You and your mum are wonderful people to care enough to feed Lucifer. Please keep us updated!

Well done for that Jazzy, I read this earlier & kept thinking of what to reply. Hopefully that place will be able to help.

Also like to say I agree with Jazzy that your wonderful people to care enough to feed Lucifer, and yeah please do keep us updated as know a lot of people would want to know updates

I've went on the site and from the many links there I found the Cats Protection that's just down the road from me. I've noted down their number and I'll get my mum to contact them either tomorrow or after the new year. And yes, I will keep you updated on what's going on

I can't believe you found a place down the road from you! I wasn't sure if any of the places on the list would be close enough to where you live but decided it was worth a try. I'm hoping they will be able to help Lucifer!

Yes, I'll keep feeding him until I contact them which I will do after the new year... maybe next Wednesday. I hope Cats Protection will take this case seriously.

Happy to hear you will continue to feed Lucifer as he now relies on you to eat. I also hope Cats Protection will help Lucifer. I hope and pray this has a good outcome!

An update... after my mum wasn't sure of phoning up Cats Protection to deal with Lucifer, she will definitely give them a ring tomorrow when she came across someone who works for it (and it is the Glasgow-based one that I came across). If this is successful, then I may not hear from the cat again. I liked him

However, it may be possible to know how he's getting on in his new loving home. I'll keep you all posted on this

This is wonderful news! I'm sure you can call Cats Protection and ask about Lucifer. I hope Lucifer finds a forever home quickly. Thank you for this update and look forward to more from you.

Maybe they don't want to take the cat in because they think it's the reincarnation of the devil?

Haha, very funny

But in all seriousness, I cannot keep him as a pet because he growls a lot and is liable of lashing out on you and will not stay in the house either, especially when it won't be fair on my two cats (as one of them really hates him, and that is Milly). I and my mum have tried keeping him though to no avail.
