So yeah, looks like adobe finally pulled the plug on Flash. So anything that uses it (.swf) is now officially dead unless somehow archived by someone on the internet.

The majority of websites have long since abandoned use of Flash due to the security risks anyway..
It will mostly affect business/education settings, as some still use bits with eLearning and other web applications.

Most sites don't use it, but a lot of old school flash games still relied on it. Sad to see them bite the dust.
Completely forgot about this and had to rush over to https://play.cprewritten.net/ to see what had happened. It seems they are moving to HTML5 which is good to see. I thought they would have to close down after this
