The Broward Sheriff’s Office said another robbery where the thieves forced the victims to disrobe during the crime may be related to a string of similar crimes in the area.
Surveillance cameras caught the latest robbery on November 9, at the Rite Way Food Market in Pompano Beach. The criminal duo wore masks, gloves and carried hand guns when they stormed into the store.
During the Rite Way robbery, one of the thieves jumped the counter and forced a clerk to the ground while holding a gun at his back. The BSO said the accomplice locked the door of the store and had a customer lie face-down on the floor before he dragged him to the back of the store.
Once both victims were at the back of the store, they were ordered to take off their pants before the criminals ran from the store. BSO said the robbers were in the store for several minutes before fleeing.
The BSO said one robber appears to be about 5’9” and wore a black hooded sweatshirt, camouflage pants, and black sneakers. The other is roughly 5’7” and wore a white hooded sweatshirt with a dark gray shirt over it. Both wore gloves and are believed to be between 20-25 years old.
