There are a few multi-forum hosting scripts out there that allow anyone with a webserver to become their own free host. Would you want to start up such a service? If so, how would your service be different? Would you allow backups? Would you put ads on your free hosted forums?

Man, that was ages ago... lol. I never ran my own forum hosting thing before but it seemed okay.
It sure was, but I loved vB2, hacked every template to death, lol. New that software inside and out, it was just incredible software for the time.
You could free host vBulletin boards? I thought that was a paid software.
It was, but I can't remember if it was an add-on or masked sub-forums, but there was a way to essentially make near independent forums for people. I did that for friends so they could have their own forums.
