As the controversy grew over Rush Limbaugh's latest incendiary comments -- he called law student and birth control advocate Sandra Fluke a slut on Wednesday -- his show's advertisers began to flee in droves. The Associated Press reported on Sunday that seven companies have backed away from the show.

Mortgage lender Quicken Loans, mattress retailers Sleep Train and Sleep Number, online data backup service provider Carbonite, software maker Citrix Systems Inc., online legal document services company LegalZoom and flower company ProFlowers all pulled ads in reaction to Limbaugh's comments.

Rush is once again in trouble for his sharp tongue.

Do you think Rush's apology is sincere or that he revoked his comments only because his sponsors were pulling out?

I do not care for either Rush or Maher. I can't stand political people who go on the air to stir the pot. No offense, but why do people even listen to these guys?

Regardless of what side you support, you have to admit that the contraception debate was not even close to how big it is now until Rush said those comments. Maybe this was his intention?

I don't care what his intention was but the damage is done. There is no apology to excuse his disgusting remark.

Don't know that answer. All I do know it that I wouldn't was my time listening to either one of them.

Because people like to tune into their stations. Regardless of whether or not you agree with them, the fact that they sound so radical and political in their talk makes you want to listen. They say things so out of the ordinary so you can't help but listen, regardless if you agree with them in the end or not.

They are there to entertain us by dancing around facts, playing dodge ball with reality while throwing words around to piss off the other side so people who lean left and right can laugh at the verbal wars that go on because some guy on the radio and/or TV had no problem with saying it.

I have to admit they do get people talking about different issues so I suppose there is a good side to these types even if it's hard to see at times.
