We all sneak a taste (or two) while cooking. But how do you do it?

Are you the spoon switcher with a collection of dirty spoons rivaling a pirate's treasure, or the finger dipper hoping no one catches you in the act?

Maybe you casually use your stirring spoon like a seasoned pro, or do you have a secret tasting technique?

Share your tasting methods. Promise won’t judge...

I would love to be one of those spoon switchers, moving from one polished spoon to another like a Michelin star chef. But - I don't have a dishwasher, so that's a hard pass from me.

If I'm cooking for others, I hover the spatula over a spoon without the two making contact, so that I can reuse the spoon without adding anything more to my dishes. If I cook for just myself or myself and my SO I just dip my spoon directly in the food, over and over, hehe.

I have a dishwasher, but I don't like using a lot of spoons because I end up running out of them before I run a load. It's not from sampling food, but because I use a new spoon each time I take something from a jar while cooking. I don't want to contaminate the contents and risk them going off.

When I'm not in a rush, I do the same. It's definitely the best approach. (y)
When I'm busy, I end up using a few different spoons, haha.

I'm sure we've all done that!:p
