Scared in your house?

Do you ever get scared/afraid from unexpected noises/sounds you hear in the house? Noises from outside?

Do you go investigate, call for help, or just close your eyes and hide under the covers?

I ask because my daughter was in bed and started screaming at me with fear in her voice: DADDY! DADDY! so I immediately go running to the back of the house because I thought something serious was happening (like someone breaking into the house or something). I even hurt my leg when I banged it into the corner of a table while running back there so quickly. I can see an big ugly bruise forming now..

Anyway.. I get there, turn on the lights, hearing her crying and I said Whats wrong?!?!!? She said I heard a scary noise from the laundry room! So I turn on the lights in there and I see the cat using his litter box. She probably heard him scratching / moving the litter around. I asked her if thats what that sound was and she said Yeah I think so. She calmed down and I laid with her until she fell asleep.

Glad that was a false alarm.

I don't get scared. My Grandmother's house is old so everything creaks. When I hear creaks I get anxious, and just go to look and see what made the noise. My sister says that she's heard noises in my house, so I go look to shut her up.

Noises from outside don't bother me, once I know it's outside and possibly no threat, then I ignore it.

Most of the time, if a noise is heard, I'm the one to see what made the noise, so I've got a bit fearless really XD

Once I was sleeping and I heard a loud crash and glass breaking. I thought someone broke a window to get in. My dogs were barking like crazy too. I just got my handgun and went and investigated. It wound up to be a large framed mirror fell off the wall and broke XD. As far as outside noises go, there is so much wildlife around here that I can't be bothered checking.

Eh, I sometimes do. Not when my parents or brothers are around though. Like I hear someone upstairs when I am suppose to be alone? But my mom arrived home early from work? Haha.

No, because my dad built this house, and I've lived in it my entire life. If I hear something that doesn't sound right, I'll go investigate. My sister and brother both drive, so someone is always constantly going somewhere, never think much about it. Before I go to bed each night, I make sure the doors are locked and the garage is shut.
