What is the scariest experience you have ever had?
What made it so scary? Care to share what happened?

:fright:

I was the victim of an abduction attempt in 1995, at age five.
Self explanatory.

 What happened?

When I was 13 I was fooling around in the deep end of the swimming pool. I was cursing underwater thinking it was funny until I realized I was under there for a few seconds too long and I got out of the water as fast as I could and when I did I was coughing out water.

Thats what you get for saying bad words!!!
...Just kidding, almost drowning is scary. Been there, done that

I was driving home late at night from a friend's house. He lives in an area with lots of orchards, trees, and desolate fields of nothing. The nearest town is only 5 minutes away so it's not exactly the middle of nowhere. It was foggy and there was nobody on the road. I look to my right and see a white slender figure standing about 6 feet tall next to the almond trees. It's face looked liked a hybrid of an owl and some type of primate. I just stared at it for a second or two as I drove past. I have no idea what it was. I thought about calling animal control or the police but I had no idea what to say. I told my brother about it when I got home, he said it was probably just an owl. But I'm sure owls don't have arms and legs. :ghost:

You've seen too many scary movies. :P

I had a thirty minute commute when I worked graveyard at a truck stop (hey, jobs were scarce and no righteous graveyards were available!), and I blacked out at the red light 2 blocks after leaving work and was woke up by a police officer tapping on my window at a red light a few blocks from home (he said the folks living on the corner called him and reported I had been idling at the light for 20 minutes).

I nearly had a heart attack when I realized what happened. I didn't tell the cop when I passed out, of course... no doubt I'd have lost my license on the spot!

Well at least you were stopped when you fell asleep.

I've been the car with drivers who were coming in and out of consciousness. I had to be extra alert to keep the driver awake and myself alive. Once when I was a kid my dad drove off the side of the road into a ditch because he dozed off (and was drunk  ). I was asleep too and when I woke up there was cops everywhere and my dad was being arrested. Mom had to come get me.

Read my post again. I passed out near work. I was woke up by a police officer 30 minutes later, near home.

I drove almost 30 miles... unconscious.

Oh sorry I misread your post.

How do you drive 30 miles unconscious without hitting anything? O.o

You have no idea how many times I've asked myself the same thing.

Fortunately, the route is 99% US highway that is mainly straight and only has one red light after leaving the interchange area until hitting the town I lived in.

Either witnessing my mother get beaten up on the floor (a hospital visit was in order after) on Christmas Day when I was eight, or my car crash last year. I was tapping the brake as I came up to a curve and hit ice, wheel wrenched out of my hand and the car fishtailed until it hit the gravel on the side of the road. When it caught some traction it tipped and I rolled down an incline five times, over a fallen tree, before boomeranging around a standing tree and landing on the side opposite from the damage from the tree.. Car was totaled, my door was caved in fourteen inches and I had glass spray all over my face as well as a gash from the seatbelt but was otherwise fine. Had to unbuckle, swing around to my feet and climb the backseat to shove the door open and climb out. Called 911 before I did anything other than turn the engine off.
