Schumacher’s head injuries ’caused by GoPro camera mounted on ski helmet’
Michael Schumacher’s serious brain injury was caused by the mounting of a camera on his helmet, it has been revealed.

Formula 1 commentator Jean-Louis Moncet made the claim after speaking to the driving champion’s son, Mick, who was with his father when the accident happened on December 29 last year.

Schumacher was critically injured when he fell and struck his head on a rock in the French Alps.

He is still immobile and unable to speak, but he has been taken home from a rehabilitation clinic in Switzerland and is now being looked after by a team of experts in a specially designed facility at his £35 million home by Lake Geneva.

Moncet told a radio station: ‘The problem for Michael was not the hit, but the mounting of the Go-Pro camera that he had on his helmet that injured his brain.

‘I saw his son and he told me that Schumi is waking up very slowly; very slowly.

‘Although things are going at a slow pace, he has a lot of time, I would say he has his whole life in front of him to get back on track.’

Doctors say that the 45-year-old has made progress but it is still unclear how much of a recovery is possible.

Thoughts?

I guess it's just a matter of time. We haven't been given much information about his progress other than it is "coming along slowly", so it's hard to speculate without many details.

He is still immobile and unable to speak

Been a long time since this accident happened. This is not sounding like he's going to make it even close to a full recovery. :(

This isn't the first time that kind of thing has happened. Including neck injuries from the camera mount catching on something, whiplash type injuries, and so on. But this may be the worse.

I haven't seen if any deaths have been attributed to a head-mounted camera, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Hopefully, showoffs and hot-dogs will learn from this. But I doubt it.
