Have you ever been scuba diving? Is it something you'd want to try?

No and probably not. I don't like swimming unless I can touch the bottom. Don't think i'd fancy diving.

I'm a member of my states Water Rescue Team. Not sure you can call it scuba diving since we're looking for people trapped in vehicles or that have fallen into the water by accident.

You wear that contraption invented by that dead French guy don't you?

Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus

The story of the Aqua-Lung goes back to World War II. In June, 1943, on a small beach of the Riviera, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, wearing rubber fins, shouldered the new completely autonomous diving gear.

It was inspired by the discoveries that preceded it, particularly that of Captain Yves Le Prieur, pioneer of autonomous diving who, in 1925, perfected an open-circuit, compressed-air device. There was one problem: the continuous flow of air limited how long the device could be used.

That's scuba diving to me.

I never have, but I guess I wouldn't mind trying.
So long as there isn't anything around that might kill me :P

Sort of takes the fun out of it, I imagine.
