I've done kayaking but never tried jet skiing which looks like a lot of fun.

Next time I plan on trying jet skiing instead of kayaking again.

The opposite for me! Although operating a jet ski isn't really a sport. :|

I think it is as they do have races and whatnot, not too different from ATV concept either except it takes place on water of course.

Jet skiing is very fun and something I loved to do when we lived down in California. You truly do need to be mature and careful when you're riding those powerful machines because they are dangerous and can cause serious injury or death, but maaaaaan are they fun as hell to ride. xD

Indeed, my uncle got really hurt by going way too fast near the shore. There was a huge rock sitting just under the water so it was virtually invisible to a jet ski driver and I'm not sure if it sent him flying but he managed to get a broken arm out of that whole ordeal.

Ugh, I can't imagine how badly that sucked. A lot of people just underestimate how powerful those things are and how dangerous the water you're on can be. If you don't know the terrain, you could easily hit the side of a drop off and kill yourself or kill someone else. Regardless, they're fun if you're smart about it!
