A video of a man getting a kick in the head from a train conducter while taking a video selfie near train tracks is going viral.

More than 4.6million people have watched the clip uploaded to YouTube by Jared Frank, reports the Huffington Post.

Mr Frank, 22, from Regina, Canada, took the selfie on the Inca Trail in Peru - next to the train route that runs from Cusco to Machu Picchu.

He was visiting the region with a friend, and wanted to take a snap of himself with one of the route's iconic blue and yellow trains passing in the background.

Clearly shocked by the outcome, he exclaims: "Wow, that guy kicked me in the head."

The drive-by kicking happens so fast it's almost impossible to make out how the drama unfolds.

Mr Frank added: "I tried to take a selfie while a train passed a 'safe' distance behind. I guess I was still too close and got kicked in the head. I messed up."

Many commenters said they felt that he got what he deserved by posing for a selfie in such a dangerous place.
