Shameful Beggar Lady

Yesterday this lady wandered into my work asking for money and stated that she was pregnant and gave me this big long sob story..



She appeared to be pregnant.



I felt sorry for her so I gave her a dollar and she left. When she thought she was out of view, she pulled a sweater she had tucked under her shirt. She wasnt pregnant!



I almost felt like running up there and getting my dollar back just because she lied to me. But I didnt feel like it was worth the trouble.

At least she only stole your dollar. My opinion - if a con artist gets you, they have successfully done their job...you gotta give em' credit for that. Bernie Madoff, on the other hand..that's a whole different kind of con artist.

Society is pretty bad these days. You hear of things like this happening all the time. You think you're making a difference, yet it doesn't. I hope she's happy with the life she has.

You know if she wasnt pregnant I probably would have only given her like 25 cents.

Why make such a big deal for a dollar? JK

I really hate liars though. As you all probably know, especially you Nebulous since you live in Cali just like me, she could be doing that because of the recession that we have right now. She could be one of those immigrants who just recently got fired and couldn't get another job. Maybe she has no other choice.

That's disgusting what happened. People who do these kinds of things are not only cruel, but they make it so no one wants to give charity to people who genuinely need it. They're doubly stealing from needy and helpless people.



I remember that there were fires in my area and we were evacuated because of it for two weeks. And we couldn't afford two weeks of hotel rooms, so we had to go to a shelter which was in this giant airplane hanger. Anyway, when we got there, they gave us a cot to sleep in, but said they had no pillows or blankets (neither did we) because people had been coming into the shelter who weren't fire victims and stealing all the pillows and blankets. That night, my family and I all huddled together and shivered the whole night because it was freezing that night and foggy. I was really pissed at the people who had stolen my pillow and blanket.
