Police have released shocking footage from an officer’s body camera that shows her being brutally attacked by a handcuffed man.

Sergeant Kerry Lawrence was assaulted by Craig Radbourne, 25, last July after responding to a report of a burglary in progress in Church Square, Basingstoke.

He was subsequently re-arrested by other officers nearby. He was initially detained on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, and taken into police custody.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm and was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court to three years in prison.
