Should DLC be free?

So you've bought a video game that's presumable $60-70.... now there's extra content for the game. Should you have to pay for DLC? Or, should your initial purchase of the game cover any additional things added to the game?

Please share your opinions. :coffee:

That sounds :lame:

Forking out $60 or $70 should entitle you to everything the game entails.

No. Typically DLC is not a missing part of the game, and if it is, shame on the devs for creating it that way! In any case, it's still a product that required time, effort, and money to make, and it should be compensated for.

IMO it's like an expansion, only smaller. So no, it shouldn't be free.

I bought a meal once. Now, the place that made it makes a different meal with a few extras. I should get that for free, because I bought the meal before.

DLC should be free if it's something generic. Preorder bonuses should cost nothing, similarly skin swaps/palettes should be free, because they're usually the kind of thing any normal person could manage in Photoshop. If it's an expansion with additional missions, story, etc. then it should be paid for.

Maybe a coupon for a free meal or, at least, the difference, yeah.

I would do that if I ran a restaurant ^^

i wanna know something..im thinking of purchasing some DLC stuff for a game to enhance my gaming experience on PSN..do you think its safe to do so? I remember PSN got hacked some years ago

PSN is as safe as living life. But keep in mind that Microsoft also has been hacked in the past, as has Home Depot, Target, Michael's, and plenty of other retailers that have and will be hacked in the future. As long as it's a trusted business, I'd say it's just fine. In fact, I bought Infamous: First Light not too long ago, but even during that hacking issues, my information wasn't compromised and I constantly check my bank accounts.

No. Some times there are free dlc. But the developers make dlc to make some money on the side as well as further promote the games.
