Should teenagers get after-school jobs?

Is that good for them or should the focus on being a kid for the little time they have left and on their studies?

Absolutely, if they are so motivated and can fit it in with their schedule and still maintain fairly decent grades. Super socialization and dealing with the general public.

So long as it doesn't overtake their schoolwork, absolutely. Financially they need to understand money and balancing a checkbook, but they're still obligated to perform well scholastically.

Since students finished up to senior high, they already acquired skills . I firmly agree to allow them to find a job that suits t their qualification. They can enroll college while working .There are schedules in early evening and weekend .

If they want to learn a small trade after school learning how to flip burgers and cook fries at McDonald's for a small wage. It doesn't hurt.

I agree with you. There are young people this time after graduation wanting to operate a business of their own basing from the skills acquired during their senior high school program.

It's good to train the kids to do business in such a way parents know if their kids are inclined to do business or not. Sometimes parents cannot dictate what their kids like to be.

I lean much more towards no. I think it is more important for kids to be involved within community activities. It can be harder to become more integrated within the community space when you are working fulltime. So it is better to get into this when you are at a younger age. I also think that the weakening of community and public spaces is to the detriment of society and politics. I really want to see more engaged and involved people within our communities. It is also an incredible opportunity for self development and growth when they are really entering the age of self discovery. So many teenagers when leaving high school are at a loss for what they want to do, this could help give them some sense of direction. Especially if it has helped awake passions within them.

I agree that they should get a job if they so desire. Teaches them to be productive in the community, as well as giving them a good work ethic as we need more of that. Their are alot of lackk of customer service individuals out there that lack the skills to serve their community.

Teaches them to be responsible and if they want a car, or money to go out with their friends which gives them a good self appreciation since they are making their own money, setting them selves up for their goals and can go to college if they choose.
This also gives them ideas on other things they want to do which also gives them the traits to interact with their co-workers and socialize with others
