I had never used one before and I got on some BBSes and also Prodigy. I'm really big into computers and then able to connect to another computer and interact with people was wicked!!

I suppose when you look at it like that, it was pretty cool!

I wonder when that's going to start having a very negative impact on Reddit. They need to realize that you can't mute & ban people over stupid shit. It seems people on Reddit are choosing who goes and who stays and you can't do that. It's going to catch up to them one day. That's not good.

Yeah they'll alienate their members soon enough and it'll dry up / go inactive eventually.

Thats lame. Trying to argue with someone on how to pronounce their own name? If someone tells me the correct pronunciation of their name, I will try my best to remember and use that.

I don't feel obligated to explain myself to anyone. Years ago I just stopped explaining to people who really have no business knowing. Now, I would explain something to my spouse, my kids, my best friend, etc. But, explaining things to coworkers, acquaitances, other relatives who are not impacted , they need no explanation and aren't getting one. Explanations are reserved only for those who have a right to know.

Why explain or answer them at all? YOUR reasons are nobody's business. If someone asks, I would just say, that's just my preference and that's it. I mean I wouldn't feel the need to explain that. However, I do think some are genuinely curious and don't really mean to be annoying. But, I think you could cut them off pretty quickly if you don't wish to explain.

..also I have had a ton of really good vegetarian meals so I can see why someone would be down with that way of eating.

Indeed. Other people aren't worth the time and energy needed to explain something.
