I think it looks a lot neater XD
I like it as well. The darkish background is just enough but not too much. In fact, with that sort of background, the videos, pics, music videos and stuff like that, well, the videos actually look a lot more crisp and clear versus the old layout. With this new layout, it's almost like any video you watch is in high definition, even though you know it's not. I love it.
I guess since Google changed it's look I expected Youtube too as well. It's not really that big of a deal to me. I guess my only problem is that the sidebar looks odd because the page is stretched so far down.

There is a channel feed on the left hand side of screen encouraging users to ââ¬Ësubscribeââ¬â¢ to their favourite YouTube channels and shows ââ¬â which could mean a major boost to TV networks and individuals who have their own channels on the site.
And there are big Facebook and Google+ ââ¬Ëbuttonsââ¬â¢ also in the left hand column so users can easily share and see content from the video site through to their choice of social network.
On the right hand side is a ââ¬ËRecommendationsââ¬â¢ feed, which will suggest videos that users may like based on their current subscriptions and video-watching history.
The overall feel of the new YouTube is more like a social network, rather than a linear video site.
The Google-owned video site has been trying to make in-roads into hosting as much professional content on the site, as well as user-generated content and encouraging users to set up channels. However, in the UK, apart from a landmark deal with Channel 4 and then Channel Five, few other content owners and broadcasters, have entered into full syndication deals with the site ââ¬â instead preferring to set up their own channels on the site and control the distribution of their content themselves.
Moreover, Googleââ¬â¢s big push this year has been around cracking the social side of the web. Since launching Google+ just over 100 days ago, it has been trying to make sure of all of its web products, such as YouTube, Maps and Gmail, have a social element deeply embedded into each user experience.
YouTubeââ¬â¢s facelift is the biggest in its six-year history.

Lol, no worries. And isn't the point of Youtube to be a linear video site and NOT a social network? Granted when you look closely. Its thanks to Youtube that you got your Juggalos and your musicians and the like getting more closely involved with one another.

I never look at the main page anyway and I never log in either.
Same here. I deactivated my account last year or the year before because I never really used it that much. I don't look at the homepage either as I have saved some vids to my favorites. But I still like how it's easier to see the video.
