The story begins with Hyzenthlay, a hybrid species living among the Kivouachians. Daring to think different she has some ideas on what to do about the state of the world. So she decides to speak at the next public meeting.
The world has gotten desperate to the point these meetings are an open mic for anyone who has ANY ideas. Most of the people just go for the free drinks.
Hyzenthlay knows the real Lucy is somewhere in the crowd so when making her statement she is to pay attention to the crowd and see who can be bothered enough to look up from their phone even for a moment.
Hyzenthlay has to appeal to beings with a short attention span. She needs to make this message attention grabbing.
She walks up to the microphone and says something that a Kivouachian would consider shocking:
“To see yourself and behave as a carnal being is to give up your free will rights totally! Is it not?”
The reaction she receives is miniscule however, one Kivouachian raises her head. Lucy.
Hyzenthlay continues. “Should deciding what we find intriguing and what we fear be our right?Should we have the right to decide our curiosities and our fears?”
“That (human) nature is not this inconvenient thing that we have no power over and that the choice to have control over it is a liberty not a discipline”
Lucy pays attention despite everyone else who couldn’t even be bothered to listen. Hyzenthlay steps down from the mic with a slightly bruised ego but it got the results she wanted, she found Lucy in a sea of drunken look-a-likes.
