All year long I throw my spare change into an empty popcorn tin. One that looks like this one

. I have been doing this for three years now and on New Year's Day, I count and roll the spare change. This is just spare change that I never missed by throwing it into the popcorn tin. Money results so far:

Year one: $602.57

Year two: $732.83

Year three: $686.21

Does anyone else do this too?

I don't have any, because it's easier to pay with in bars/pubs and I go drinking at least once a week.

Wow, that is quite a bit. I know my mom likes to save up any Pennies we have. I got a little bowl that was on my computer table that had quite a few Pennies in it.

A penny saved is a penny earned as the saying goes. I throw all spare change and so far, it's been the quarters that have made 80% the totals I posted.

Great idea! My loose change usually ends up at the bottom of my handbag. If I am looking to use my change, I tend always to be one coin short so have to bust a note anyway.

I'm always busting a note because I never have any change on me.

My mum always does this, but just with 1-2p lol.

Once she thought her bag was getting heavy so she emptied it out to find out there was £50 in pound coins lol. She had a hole in the inside lining of her bag lmao.

Yeah, i have a little piggy bank where i throw the day's left over change, but i always seem to go in there and take out quarters because i always run out of money

We used to, ages ago. Unfortunately unable to do this now, since there is never any extra change. XD

That's a Lot of money for spare change, jeesh. But I don't really spend yet, so no I don't.

I have a pot for change more than 5 pence this goes towards my busfare (when i work) each week. 1p 2p and 5p coins go in a seperate jar and I count them up yearly.

Usually have about £60 in there, and use it for festival money once its changed into notes
