Are you a member of any specific niche forums? Ones that focus only on one topic?

Example: http://www.petforums.co.uk/

Do you prefer to be on forums about a single topic or a general discussion forum like Off Topix?

No

I prefer general discussion forums.

I have joined a couple but just for advice that I know I probably couldnt get on a general discussion forum.

Like when I had some birds that laid eggs, I joined a forum about Cockatiels to get some advice on what to do. Or when I was having problems with a car a while back, I joined an automotive forum.

I dont think I am really passionate about a single topic enough to join a forum related to it and stay active talking about the same thing over and over. I need a general discussion forum with lots of different topics. Variety is the spice of life :P

I usually sign up on a forum that's about a certain niche. I don't usually sign up on a general discussion except for Off Topix of course.

I'm a member of the official Bethesda Softworks forums, which is somewhat niche. Don't post there a lot though.
Technically I'm also a member of several other forums (related to the above), but I really don't post there.

It all depends. I'm a member on the Daft Punk forum, and a few TV show/Movie ones. So it all depends on what it's about.

Though generally I will stick to the general discussion genre.
