Peter Clarke has been fined £1,000 after police caught him doing over 150 miles per hour on the A1 motorway.

Police have released footage of a motorcyclist dangerously weaving between vehicles on the busy A1 motorway on his Suzuki motorbike.

The biker was filmed from a pursuing police motorbike dangerously undertaking and scraping through gaps during the eight-minute chase which reached speeds of 156mph.

Peter Clarke, 44, failed to observe the police motorcycle following him on the north-bound triple carriageway from Alconbury, Cambs., before he was stopped near Sawtry.

Sentencing him at Peterborough Crown Court Miss Recorder McAllister described his actions as reckless driving threatening others.

Clarke, from Broadgate, Sutton St Edmund, Lincs., admitted speeding but denied dangerous driving on a stretch of the A1 at Brampton.

Speaking in his defence, Clarke said he was in total control of his motorcycle at all times and that it was built for speed.

But he was convicted of dangerous driving by a majority verdict of 11 to one following a trial at Peterborough Crown Court.

He was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £1,000 ordered to pay costs of £1,000 and a £15 victim surcharge.

If he was going that fast, I wonder how fast the cops were going that caught him.

Nothing impressive about not respecting your bike and other people you could kill doing what he did.

I've had experience with speeding bikers. Especially at night on the freeways, that's the time they like to race. They don't have any regard - just weaving in between vehicles and they don't like to share the road. One time I nearly got hit a guy that clearly was driving 120 in a 65 mph zone, he came so fast and I didn't even see him. As soon as I looked for a split second, the guy had come from three vehicles behind me, sped, and cut in front of me and continued cutting in front of other vehicles.

So easy to lose control of a bike at that speed, one pot hole and you're screwed.
