Starting a Fire

Starting a fire is fun, but how exactly do you, or would you, start a fire? (Could be for fun or if you were in a life or death situation)



I usually use newspaper and cardboard. I place cardboard on the bottom, then put wood on top, then light the cardboard and use the newspaper to get it spreading. Works good, better than using gasoline, which is dangerous.

Pour lighter fluid all over some logs and then throw a match on it. Takes about 30 seconds.

lol Way to brag when it took me 30 minutes to fail trying to start a fire with newspaper.

Lighter fluid isn't a bad idea, but I would need lighter fluid before I could use it to start a fire. Wouldn't hurt to suggest it to my mom to get some. I have to pick up all the unburnt wood and newspaper tomorrow, because it was too hurt to touch today because the paper caught fire, but the wood didn't.

Thats how we light our fires. Sure you could be all back to basics i.e. rubbing two sticks together over some dry/dead grass but that could take you all day.
