The governor where I live has declared a state of emergency. Only essential emergency personnel are allowed on the roads. I was just listening to my police scanner and there is a multi-car accident on the major highway. WTF do these people NOT get about not being allowed to drive!

Who the hell in their right mind is out and driving during a hurricane!

It's idiots like this that make people like me have to go out into this storm. Ugh...I hope they all get slapped with heavy fines and it was worth it to them.

I can well understand your frustration at people like this who

have no regard for those who have to be called out to them when

they do stupid stuff like this.

How emergency service people don't lose their tempers with such

people I don't know, you must either all have sore tongues or be saints. !

Believe me, I'm no saint. I cuss under my breath but I'm being paid to do a job.

Some people see whatever they have to do, that they should have done BEFORE the storm, as an emergency, and will tell you to your face, even as you are dealing their accident or car buried up to its windows in snow or in floodwater over the hood, that they had the right to do it.

How come you guys were declared a state of emergency? Was there bad weather at the time or what happened? Of course, when you mentioned the pile up, that was actually my first guess was that there was crappy weather to the point where it wouldn't be safe to go anywhere.

I believe she was talking about the Hurricane that went along Florida, up the coast that hit NYC...

Oh yeah, duh! I was only half awake or I was ready for bed when I read this originally... one of the two. Yeah, I know when we have blizzards around here, we too have people who think that despite visibility being below zero miles, they still think that they can drive in that crap and still get to work safely. I'm employed through a local agency, and usually when the weather gets too crappy out to even THINK of going to work, we pretty much put in for the whole day off.
