Obviously this forum tolerates people going off topic because its in the name! Lol!
But, how do you feel about people going off topic in threads? Does it bother you?

Doesn't bother me. Thats kind of like how real world conversations go. When I am with my friends we can talk about 20 different subjects in a few minutes. Lol

Not too much, I tend to go off topic on my own forum sometimes. xD I am part of some bigger forums that will verbally warn members when they start to go off topic, but I suppose it's more understandable on a very active one.

What are the consequences if they keep going off topic? They lock the thread?

They usually split the off topic posts and move them to the trash can, or they outright lock the thread. They used to suspend users if they kept going off topic, but honestly I haven't seen them suspend a user in a few years.

I go off topic quite often. I think it's pretty common on many other forums so it's nothing to get upset about. A lot of people do it.

Sometimes a line of chat will wander off as often talk about one thing will remind us of something else.
For me, a few random posts are fine for a while but if it carries on for too long then the new topic should be continued in it's own thread.

I have a kink for getting off on a tangent. You may interpret that when ready.

The fruit of my perverted mind. When someone strays off the main topic to a related topic, but with the twist.

Depends on the topic they're engaging in and how many posts are starting to stray off-topic. When you start seeing half to a whole page of a topic going off-topic, then I'd probably ask them nicely to take it to PMs or to go to the chit-chat topic that most forums have pinned in their general discussion forum.

Doesn't bother me anymore at all.
I tend to allow people to go off topic and/or shitpost.

I try to stay on topic, but at times fail miserably.
