So if you were to step down from running your site. Would you either give your position to your Co-Admin or Global Moderator? Or try to find someone on another site to take over? Personally, I would hand it over to my Co-Admin or G-Mod, as the members would already know and trust them.

I would give it to someone I trust and most likely that someone is already going to be staff.

Not really understanding this question. Are you leaving the site completely in your scenario?

If you are not on a free host, there is a lot more to it than just promoting someone else. You'd have to find someone who not only is going to take on the responsibility of running the site, but they need to cover all the financial aspects of running the site too (hosting, domain renewals, software licensing or anything else that could cost money).. This is why people end up selling their forums or closing them down.

Good point.

I guess it really depends on the type of website. If it is one I can make some money off of and don't really have a GREAT admin staff, I would sell it. But if I have someone I know really well and trust, I would give it to them.

Anyone who I trust, which is everyone on my staff team.

They have actually taken over my site numerous times which I appreciate more than anything! I can fully trust that they will take care of it with the best intentions and it will continue strongly, if not better than it did before. This is of course speaking with a free host, haha. I do not know about a paid one.
