We don't have a dishwashing machine.
Something else I do 'the old fashioned way' is drink bourbon.
I don't add anything you've ever seen on an Iron Chef episode when they have a 'mixologist' join the cooks, except ice.

I WISH things here were boring as well as unpleasant.
I thought today was going to be reasonably calm, and it was, until about noon. Then. Oh well.
I ended up cooking dinner for about fifty people including a country-gospel singing group, on short notice, with no prep time at all. (I got the call about 1, got there at 2, dinner was at 5:30)
