Okay, as most of you probably know, I am a housekeeper at our local Select Inn, but I am thinking of quitting that job and finding something better. Winter is the slowest time of the year at this motel, but then again: It's got competition just down the street that always seems to be packed...

For example, we seem to have to rely on Pipeliners and Costruction workers just to keep busy, and those people, unfortunately, don't come until the summer months (May-approximately September). I want to run a forum, but it's kind of hard when I got ten million other things going on at the moment too. In fact, between waiting for confirmation emails from hosts, finding a real world job, and all the odds and ends stuff happening at work, I just don't feel like I have time for anything else. It's not depression, so that's a relief. But today, for example, our bosses went on a trip to the Twin Cities (Minnesota) which has us all stressed out and confused because 1.: They didn't tell us in advance they were even going to be gone, which I feel is disrespectful because we always tell them when we're going to be gone, and 2.: They didn't leave any expectations for us either. Like, what if we walk in one day and there's no rooms to do? Do we deep clean another room (we're actually deep-cleaning a room now)? or do we go through all the rooms and check supplies, vaccuum hallways, etc? Or do we just simply leave? So that's kind of my little moment at the moment. I might still commence with the site, but with the way things are going, and all that, I don't know what I'm going to do. Might just lay off on the project for a while until things settle down and I get a better RL job first. What would you guys do in this situation?

I dont like my job sometimes.. In fact sometimes I hate it.. But I still go everyday and do my best. In today's failing economy you cant really just switch jobs as easily as you could a few years ago.

I don't want to sound mean but you need to set your priorities straight. All jobs are stressful but I thank goodness that I even have a job. Do you want to be a housekeeper for the rest of your life? I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that if that's truly what you do. If not, I would be looking into night classes in a field of work that really interested me. You seem obssesed with owning and running your own forum. Again, is that your first priority? I agree with Smooth that your bosses have no obligation to tell you where or why they are going away. That's why they are called bosses. Sit down and write down the pros and cons of leaving your job. Sit down and write down the pros and cons of owning a forum over having a paying job. Again, I don't want to sound mean but you need to think things out.
