So I go back to University for my second year in 2 weeks time, and I need the funding off the Government to live of and pay my rent. If not I'm buggered. So I apply for Student Finance in June.To make sure that my application would be processed and I would get the money I need to survive. Only, it gets to the start of September, and I still haven't got my letter telling me how much I'll get and when I'll get it. I phone my mam and she tells me that they wanted financial evidence, of how much she earns. So she sends them it, then they write back saying that she sent them the wrong evidence. For some strange reason, they wanted evidence of her financial situation for last year. Not this year, last year. So she sends them the evidence. They again send it back saying she gave them the wrong evidence. So my Mam's like F*ck this I'm going to phone them and play world war bloody three since they were messing us around. Then, before she calls, I get a letter telling me how much I'm going to get. So she sends it down to me, and we thought that, that was the end of it... Apparently not.
I sat down the other day to check how much I would have to live on per week, once I took the total amount of rent out of what the government was going to give me. So I'm looking at how much rent would come out of a chunk of the money I would get, when I notice that the dates are wrong on the letter the government has given me. I literally bang me head against the wall. I check the website to compare date schedules, and they don't match up, the website also says that I'm not getting both the grant and the loan, just the loan. (The grant is money off the Government that I don't have to pay back after I've finished University, but I have to pay back the loan after I finish University.) So I tell my Mam, only to find out that she's been in hospital to have a cyst drained on her kidney which no-one told me about, and she gets pissed too. So she's going to phone them tomorrow and see what the hell their playing at.
The thing is if this doesn't get sorted out in time, I'm going to have to pay ã4'000 of rent from only ã3'000 of loan the government is giving me. My dad said that he would give me the money to make up the difference, but this pisses me off, he shouldn't have to. They've given me and my Mam nothing but a run around, and I can't be doing this. I need to money to live. Wankers.
