Student Raises Over $45,000 For A Homeless Man Who Offered To Pay For Her Cab
It's incredible how one act of generosity can spark thousands more.

After losing her bank card on a night out, Dominique Harrison-Bentzen, an art undergraduate from Preston in the UK, found herself without a way to get home. To her surprise, she was approached by a homeless man, known only as Robbie, who offered the stranded student his last £3 so that she could get a taxi home safely.
While Dominique declined the offer, she was so touched by Robbie's gesture that she set out to raise £500 (around $800) so that Robbie could put a deposit on an apartment and get off the streets.
On Tuesday, the student spent 24 hours on the street to understand what homeless people deal with day in and day out. Dominique asked for £3 donations from friends and family, the same amount Robbie offered her.
When donations started rolling in from across the city, Dominique made good progress.
Then, within hours, donations started coming in from across the UK, smashing the £500 goal.
And eventually, the rest of the world got involved...
At the time of writing, £29,000 or $45,000 has been donated to change Robbie's life forever. But, Robbie has insisted that the money go to charities that benefit the entire homeless community within Preston.
