One Chicago-area 15-year-old wrote on Twitter Friday: "If Zimmerman free imam shoot everybody in Zion causing a mass homicide, and ill get away wit it just like Zimmerman (sic)" read the tweet from @Mark12394995.

The News Sun-Times reports that the tweet from the Zion-Benton Township High School sophomore was later deleted, but not before several people reported the student to the FBI.

The Oakland police dispatch office said about 100 people protested, with some in the crowd breaking windows on businesses and starting small fires in the streets. As the protest wound down with the crowd dispersing, the office said that as of 2 a.m. PDT it had no word of any arrests.

Local media reports said some Oakland marchers vandalized a police squad car and police formed a line to block the protesters' path.

After George Zimmerman was found not guilty of all charges on Saturday evening, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz sent a threatening tweet that has since been deleted from his account.

He tweeted, "Thoroughly confused. Zimmerman doesn't last a year before the hood catches up to him."

A number of churches nationwide declared today 'Hoodie Sunday' in honor of Trayvon Martin. Reverend Tony Lee of the Community of Hope A.M.E. Church in Temple Hills, Maryland delivered his sermon in a hooded sweatshirt. While the six women of the jury in Florida said George Zimmerman was acting in self-defense when he shot Martin, many in Lee's congregation are not convinced. There is outrage and disappointment among many members of the black community.

Will jurors in the George Zimmerman second-degree murder trial remain anonymous after the verdict?

A lawyer for the Orlando Sentinel sent a letter to Circuit Judge Debra Nelson, asking that she not make a ruling on how long she'll keep Zimmerman juror names secret without first holding a hearing.

The judge six weeks ago prohibited the disclosure of juror names as long as they were at work. The six women who deliberated Zimmerman's fate are known to the public only by number.

The black St. Peter’s Prep student who purportedly received racist text messages warning him to drop out of the Jersey City high school's student government election sent the texts to himself, a school official confirmed last week.

“The entire Saint Peter's Prep community is relieved that this extremely distressing incident has found closure, and we commend the various law enforcement officials for their diligent work on this case over the past months,” said school spokesman James Horan, who confirmed the result of the probe after its disclosure by a police source.

The 16-year-old was running for president for the Student Council in May when he supposedly received four hateful text messages. He brought them to the attention of school officials who called in his father and police.

The director of the Honors College at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md., sent an email to students about the Travyon Martin-George Zimmerman trial, saying the message from the verdict is that it’s OK to kill kids.

William Dorland made the comments in context of welcoming students back to school, Fox News reported. He then segued into his political views of the not-guilty verdict jurors handed to George Zimmerman, who killed Trayvon Martin in self-defense in a Florida altercation, and then was accused of murder.

“This year, we learned that it is legal to hunt down and kill American children in Florida,” said Mr. Dorland, in the Fox News report.
