If you’re suicidal and don’t want to call a hotline, here are some tips for you :

1. Realize that being suicidal is wrong.

2. Stop and think.

3. Do something to look forward to life.

What about you? What works for you for suicidal thoughts and feelings?

1. Realize that being suicidal is wrong.
Wrong in what way? Wrong by whose standards? Is there some universal rule regarding suicide that all humans all over the world unknowingly agree to at birth, like signing a contract that specifically says "being suicidal is wrong", and if there is, what's the punishment for violating it? Death penalty, maybe? Or, more likely, life penalty. I can already hear the judge: For being suicidal, you are hereby sentenced to life! You shall continue to exist in this world against your will for as long as possible! You will be provided with the best medical care known to mankind to prolong your life as much as possible! *bangs gavel*

2. Stop and think.
More like stop and drink your suicidal thoughts away...

3. Do something to look forward to life.
There is no point in looking forward to anything. Life is pointless. Everything we do between birth and death serves only to pass the time, so we don't die prematurely of boredom.

hotline?

last time I called a hotline I instantly regretted it.

bloody useless.

they literally said to me, well, if you want to watch cartoons, go watch them then. we'll call you later to check on you.

(never called back)

I'm not saying all hotlines suck, but all the experiences I've had with them have been less meaningful than talking to a brick wall.

what works for me does work, (but not in the way that you probably mean)

what I do is write a note, then look back over and think... these thoughts are valid, here's the reasons I'm having them, they are not just in my head- basically rather than trying to invalidate them, I try to think of why I have them in the first place.

I've also tried before and know what it's like, so I think back to that, too- do I really want to go threw that again and the issues it caused?

going slightly off topic, I have all ready planned my funeral/ final wishes, and as part of that, I've stated that if something happens to me (like for example if my heart stops), I don't want to be resuscitated- that's it. if my heart stops, it stops.
