I was in the supermarket today and I saw some little kids running around the freezers playing hide and seek. I though to myself, their parents need a good talking too - the kids could be hit by a trolley.

What is some supermarket etiquette that everyone should know.

Yeah I hate when someone doesnt control their kids at the store. Ive yelled at other parents before in the store.

A month ago I took my daughter to the shoe store to get some new shoes. She wanted these god awful shoes that were ugly as all hell... I think she only wanted them because I said I didnt like them. So I picked out ones that I thought would look good on her. She kept saying No, I dont want those , she was yelling it in fact. Everyone was staring. So I told her to be quiet a few times and she was still being a brat. I figured I would go up to the counter and pay for them real quick. I put them on the counter and she grabs them off the counter (out of the cashiers hands) and throws them on the floor. I was shocked. She never acts like this at the store. So I told the cashier I would be back in a minute. I marched her outside and walked over to the side of the building and gave her a stern talking to and spanking. After she stopped crying I made her go back into the store and say sorry to the cashier and whoever else was around. We bought the shoes and left.

Strangely enough, she liked them when we got home.

That's good Nebulous. Kids can't know that they'll get away with things.

My best friend has the same problem with his daughter. When his wife goes shoe shopping with her, she'll cry, and have tantrums. He just tells her--I love you too much to let you embarrass yourself like that. Stop it now or there will be serious consequences

I used to run wild. After a while I was not allowed to go to the store anymore.

Don't wait until the cashier has rung up all your items to fish for coupons, have them ready already as not to hold up the line.

Check for yourself the prices of the items you get as you shop so when you are checking out you can tell the cashier if something is wrong when said item rings up incorrectly instead of waiting until everything is rung up to ask if items are on sale or something didn't ring right.

Don't walk with a cart down the middle of the aisle. The whole aisle does not belong to you. Chances are someone needs to get through too so leave some appropriate space for everyone to get through. For Pete's Sake, don't stop in the middle of the aisle standing just to think about what you want to get.

Don't be an asshole.

All very good things to consider IMO!

There's always a group get-together meeting or two blocking aisles at Costco, and the aisles are nice & wide too; No excuse!! :verymad:
You have to either send out some serious stink eye or say, 'excuse me please' after a bit or both.
