Sword Art Online is an anime about becoming trapped in a full-dive video game, where death in game means death in real life. A few characters band together in an attempt to beat the game and win their freedom.

It just ended its second season, and we're expecting SAO III sometime late 2015 or early 2016.

From what I know, No, season three has not been announced yet. However, many people are saying that we should expect it late 2015 or early 2016. Still such a long way away...

It hasn't been announced, but it's pretty obvious there will be another season. The end of season 2 was setting up for something big, and the light novels have continued beyond the GGO arc.

I haven't read the light novels yet! How are they?

I enjoy them. I've only got four so far, but I really like the author's writing style, and it feels like there's more emotion to some of the characters and their interactions.

At any rate, it's written far better than Hollow Fragment was. >_>

I watched a little bit on Adult Swim on Saturday, but I couldn't get into it. It just wasn't...I dunno, interesting to me. I've read about it, too. The girl character doesn't strike me as interesting either, so that didn't help.
