The Daily Treasury Statement that was released Wednesday afternoon as Americans were preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving revealed that the U.S. Treasury has been forced to issue $1,040,965,000,000 in new debt since fiscal 2015 started just eight weeks ago in order to raise the money to pay off Treasury securities that were maturing and to cover new deficit spending by the government.

During those eight weeks, Treasury took in $341,591,000,000 in revenues. That was a record for the period between Oct. 1 and Nov. 25. But that record $341,591,000,000 in revenues was not enough to finance ongoing government spending let alone pay off old debt that matured.

The Treasury also drew down its cash balance by $45.057 billion during the period, starting with $126,568,000,000 in cash and ending with $81,511,000,000.

The only way the Treasury could handle the $942,103,000,000 in old debt that matured during the period plus finance the new deficit spending the government engaged in was to roll over the old debt into new debt and issue enough additional new debt to cover the new deficit spending.

Our utter collapse of our economy is going to be so ugly. Am enjoying this charade of a stable economy and government for as long as I can. My stock pile of silver, gold and bullets I am afraid will come in handy in my life time.

I've always wondered what good gold really is when faced with a survival situation.

If you are hungry, and have a pile of gold, and another guy has no gold, but has a canned ham (or a fish trap, or whatever), and he is willing to trade for gold, then HE will be hungry, but he'll have gold.

I don't see how that improves his situation.

I guess he'll have something shiny to put in his tomb. To make archaeologists think he was important.

I have a years supply of food put away and several months of water including a nice big lake behind my home. But gold and silver has always held value since man started using tools. And even under a full collapse there will still be a need for the endless things silver and gold is used for. I think it is a safe, safety net to have some.

What’s in the spending bill? We skim it so you don’t have to

The $1.01 trillion spending bill unveiled late Tuesday will keep most of the federal government funded through next September -- and it's packed with hundreds of policy instructions, known on Capitol Hill as "riders," that will upset or excite Democrats, Republicans and various special interest groups.

So, what's in the bill? We've sifted through the legislation, consulted supporting documents from Democratic and Republican aides, and called out some of the more notable and controversial elements below. (If you want to review detailed reports on all 12 parts of the spending bill, click here.)

Please note: This is a fluid report that will be updated to add more detail or correct errors. What notable changes did we miss? What notable changes did you spot? Contact us or share details in the comments section below:

You will note that the assclowns have fully funded everything that cost A BUNCH of them their seats at the public trough.

I didn't know you had that much faith in them.

I gotta keep a little faith otherwise just get out of the world of politics and be the brain dead people who can't even tell you who ISIS is.

I can hear the answer to that the man on the street is an idiot segment now....

"ISIS... Isis... oh, yeah, that was that show with that good looking chick playing that Roman Goddess."

He'd be partially right, she Was 'good looking', but the goddess was from elsewhere.
