Me and my daughter have been swimming a lot at the gym lately and she is really getting better at swimming. Before she was too afraid even attempt to swim, now she is going 6 to 20 feet across the water before she struggles too much and gives up.

Any tips/advice on teaching a child to swim?

Thanks for the resource Jazz.

Ive tried to tell her and show her the right way to do it but she seems to do her own thing regardless of what Ive taught her. Guess she will just learn it through practice. Thats how I learned.

You could sign her up for swimming lessons with other children her age.

Also just make it fun for her, I'm sure you do.

Kids learn better when they think what they're learning is a game.

Neither one of us want to fork out the money for that.

Fair enough.

Just make it a game as well as a lesson and have fun with her.

You're a good dad.

Thanks.

Yeah I make it fun and I always shower her with praise when she attempts to swim a few feet. It makes her want to try harder.

They both involve water/getting wet?

You might have one afterwards to get rid of the chlorine?
