Two area teenagers who fed a live cat to two dogs, videotaped it and posted it online were arrested by sheriff's deputies last week on suspicion of cruelty to an animal.

Although the incident apparently occurred this summer, Kern County Animal Control wasn't contacted until Dec. 4 after a person reported receiving a video of the attack on a social networking site.

Animal Control staff viewed the video, which deputies said appeared to show two large dogs being fed a live cat while voices in the background encouraged the dogs to attack.

Friday, detectives interviewed the citizen who reported the video, and after receiving additional information were able to identify who posted the video originally.

That same day, detectives arrested a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old as the people involved. Deputies said the offense took place "somewhere in the Bakersfield area."

Good. That is absolutely sick and possibly the start of something even worse. That poor kitty. T_T They need to be rehabilitated because that's just a disgusting thing to do to a live animal.

There is no suspicion with the videotaped evidence. I agree, this is disgusting behavior. Sadly, they will probably only get a slap on the wrist and released. We need stricter laws and punishment for animal cruelty cases.

That is actually chilling, if you think about it.  Many serial killers started their "careers" of killing people with abusing, maiming and brutally killing animals.  This act by these children is a HUGE red flag.  I hope their parents understand the implications of the situation, although I don't hold much hope for that.  It's pretty obvious the parents have not been the influence they should have been.  It always goes back to the parents, in my mind.

This is why I said they should get into rehabilitation immediately. If it's beginning like this, it could very well turn into something completely and utterly worse. This isn't just a matter of "kids will be kids". This is fucked up.

when opening this thread up, i was bracing myself for all sorts of attacks and cursing towards those darn muslim terrorists, but no... this case is here in america, teenagers at that...

are the children muslims? are their parents? i mean something must be up with this, ya know? stuff like this only happens in the middle east by muslims i thought?

but, i feel confused by some people's responses... i surely believe if this case was in the middle east and by muslims then some of you would spew every hateful word towards them in your posts...

where is the anger towards these kids i wonder?

don't these children deserve your hate and anger or because they are in the wrong location and of wrong race?

or, i could be wrong, maybe some of you have realized that hateful and distasteful things occur everywhere by every race, creed and color... evil is blind of race and religion...

i hope someone learns something by my post...

and yes, this is very sad and sickening, those children need help and their parents need to be talked to...
