Teen's tantrum leads to fire that damaged 16 apartments

If I had a kid who did this, I'd just wash my hands of them. They'd be on their own. Thoughts?

Records say a fire that destroyed 16 apartment units in northwest Houston started when a man lit clothes in a closet because he was mad at his family.

What a disaster! (the "kid") He should be locked in a padded (fireproof ) cell for the duration; & let him throw all of the temper tantrums his little heart desires.
If he apologizes (which I doubt he will), what good is that? Poor baby obviously had a troubled childhood.

If I were the parents, I would not help him with a lawyer. Setting your parents house on fire is saying a lot.
