Do respond to all your texts? When someone doesn't respond to you, do you think its rude?

What is appropriate content for a text? What is inappropriate?

I was having a text convo with someone yesterday and I ended with goodnight and didnt get a goodnight back. I thought it was kind of rude.

I respond to all my texts eventually, but it may take some time if I'm busy. I don't consider it to be rude unless they're deliberately avoiding my text and do it all the time. I usually just don't text those people unless they text me first. As far as what's appropriate and what's not, I avoid saying anything too personal and/or anything I wouldn't share with that person in person. Same rule applies for what's inappropriate. Basically anything you wouldn't tell to that person face to face, you shouldn't say over text. However, there's a few other things I'd like to point out. PLEASE, don't try to fight or argue with me over text. I don't fight/argue over text. I had a friend try to argue with me via text the other day. I told her if she wants to call me or meet somewhere to talk about it, I'd be more than happy, but I'm not about to argue over text.

Other than that, just use common sense. And remember, whatever you text to whoever you text, there's going to be a record of what you say, so be careful not to say something too personal or something you'd otherwise wouldn't want wrote down.

If someone texts me with a single word or something, I don't reply.

Yeah if someone is like ok or k or

I generally don't reply.

As a result, I don't care if people don't reply when I text that (though I would never send k, that's just plain rude).

I say k all the time. Its not rude, its letting someone know u got the message.

Example:

#1: I'll be there in 15 minutes.

#2: k

Oh in that situation it's usually not that bad. I still think you should say okay, but I don't mind as much then.

My Dad has a tendency to say k at the worst times ever though. He'll ask me how I'm doing, I'll tell him, and he'll just be like k. That's when it's rude.

Well I don't do texting and don't have a mobile, but I would

tend to use proper english as much as possible.
