The 150-Vehicle Pileup Unfolding On Michigan's I-94

At least one person has died in a massive pileup along I-94 near Galesburg, Michigan. Whiteout conditions caused the massive crash which currently has two cars and four semi trucks — one containing fireworks — on fire. A three mile radius around the crash has been evacuated.

Going to take a very long time to get to all those people and vehicles.

Stop following so closely and slow. the. hell. down. People are such idiots when it comes to driving, especially in such hazardous conditions. And if you don't need to be driving, don't be out there. If you need to be, then either pull over and wait 'til it passes or just be very, very cautious. This is a very sad thing, but the amount of cars in this pile up probably could have been limited if people were smarter.

Whiteout conditions can happen very quickly and without warning. These people are on a major highway with a, let's say, 60 MPH speed limit. Very hard going that speed in whiteout conditions to react fast enough to stop before hitting another vehicle. I'm just hoping there was just that one fatality and no more. Even one is bad enough.

Hence why I say don't go 60 mph in whiteout conditions.  I don't care what the speed limit is.  When you can't see 5 or 10 feet in front of you, you slow your ass down and pull off the road or go as slow as it is safe and possible.  Honestly, no one should be out there driving in conditions like that, but people take the risk and the truck drivers have to be out there since they're working.  It's just ridiculous that some people have so little common sense about them and then these horrible accidents happen when they could've just stayed where they were until the conditions got better.
