Have been a decade long time Olympus user and we have been waiting a long time for this prime lens to come out. And so far I can understand why photographers of all the other brands go nuts over a good 50mm.

Just a few random ones learning it characteristics over the last few days. My wife being a willing guinea pig for most of them.

For a 'what in the hell am I doing with this thing' set, You did OK, and she was a wonderful target for your shots.

I've got what I've been told is a "Nifty Fifty" on my 'new' primary camera.

It has taken some learning on my part (zooming in or out is done with your feet), but I shot the last two photo essays with it, and did OK.

What kind of camera body did you hang your 50 on?

I have the new Olympus EM1 to replace my old E30 I got in 2008. Waited for a long time for this camera on back order.

Olympus does not make the 4/3 cameras anymore and now just the m4/3. Olympus users had a fit because its some of the best glass ever made. So they promised a water proof adapter to that would function just as well on there new m4/3 bodies. They kept there promise the lens on the right is a rare Leica 4/3 superzoom lens and it works fantastic! Its my go to lens probably 70% of the time.

You might notice that it says 25mm on the lens. In case you didnt know all m4/3 bodies have a two times crop.

Thank you sir.

Most of that meant nothing to me, but I read it to my wife, the photographer, and she explained it to me.

And I still have no idea what it means.

She is a Canon-ite and has an "old 5-D" and fancy lenses that cost more than some cars I've bought.

For just learning it characteristics of the new 50mm, you did one heck of a job taking these pictures. Each one is so crystal clear and the colors are so vibrant. That's one very pretty willing guinea pig you got there! Thank you for sharing these great pictures!
