Even though it's been ten years since 9/11 does it make you nervous being around certain people ?

Did you or do you still look at some people differently ?

Are you more aware of your surroundings then before or are you still doing the same things the very same way as if nothing ever happened ?

Then l'll assume your in the U.K. then since you didn't share.

The London bombings would cause me great concern if l was living there since it was the same type of group the bombed the London Tube as flew planes into the twin towers.

Little farther to the right.

It's not like it doesn't concern me, it's just useless to let it bother you to the extent of suspecting everyone. Paranoia is unhealthy. More so because there're quite a few immigrants+descendants here.

Its not a matter of being paranoid so much as it is to be more careful and vigilant.

Being careful and vigilant's great and all, but only being so around certain people is worse than not being so at all.

Everyone poses a threat, simply by being human they are dangerous. (I did say I didn't get any more paranoid

) I see no great point in letting it bug me 24/7, though. (Wouldn't be able to sleep for one

The world is no longer innocent and there is no such place as a safe place . I treat everyone the same still but l must admit l look harder at some people more then others.

I make no apologies for doing that as the world and the people that live in it made me this way.

The world was never innocent, people have been killing each other for ages. The only thing that has changed is technology.

Every single moment there exists a chance, no matter how small, my way of living will be destroyed. Be it by a natural event or otherwise.

Suspecting people of being up to something is a key part in our survival as a species... mostly because a lot of people are up to something at any given point. It's not pretty, but it's not new either.

With all due respect, parts of the world were innocent to some extent.

The towers in NYC were not a battlefield nor was the subway system in London.

People just going about their daily business, not heading off to war carrying guns, innocent people.

But no more.

Even young people at a retreat in a peace loving country Norway.

Innocent no more.

Yes we have been killing each other since the beginning of time but there were places when this was not the norm, until now.

The parts where we didn't live, yes.

True, those places weren't battle fields in the conventional sense, but it's not entirely a new thing either. In medieval times armies would burn what they could not eat to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. Were those farmers living on a battle field?

Granted, terror is more effective these days. In ye olde days a king would wage war, these days democracy wages wars, the people wage war. Assassinating a king is fairly traditional. The people rule now (in theory anyway, ask Leftover), the tradition lives on. Remember the IRA?

Only fight the battles you can win. Abdominal as they may be...
