A $20 bill when I was walking with my mom on our block as a kid.I've never found that much again in my life and it was exciting.
I found a MontBlanc pen on a train once. I did give it to lost property at the station when I arrived though, kind of wishing I hadn't.
Maybe, I just know that I would have missed it and called the train station first to see if I had lost it there or on the train, and assumed that someone else would do the same.Yeah, the lost and found people probably go through the stuff at the end of the week and take what they want because it's unclaimed.

I've lost my keys on a train once and also an umbrella once, and both times I got them back.I used to take the train into Chicago to work and if I ever lost anything I knew it was gone for ever![]()

I've actually done that once. I found some car keys in the sand on the beach and was wondering what to do with them but noticed that there was a little police station just across the road. I have no idea if anyone came to claim them but I felt good about it.One time was in a small town in New Hampshire and someone had actually turned in into the local police (who does that?!)
