Any suggestions on how to conquer the fear of heights?

Relax. Take deep breaths. Think about how ridiculously unlikely it is that something bad will actually happen to you. The odds of being involved in a fatal plane crash is 1 out of 20 million. Things like roller coasters, skyscrapers, and planes are very sturdy and safe.

Gradually learn to fight your fear. You might not want to go on a roller coaster right off the bat. Try starting out small, i.e., going to the roof of a building, going on a Ferris Wheel, etc.

If nothing else works, talk to a therapist. They can help you.

These two things, really.  You're never going to conquer your fears unless you face them.  We learned that in CBT, that in order to retrain your brain, you should expose yourself to what you fear.  Of course, it's a process and you need to start out small so as not to traumatize yourself.  A therapist can help you do that if it's too much to do on your own.

These are some nice suggestions. But I have a huge fear of heights that I've never managed or probably ever will get over. Its so bad that I won't climb a ladder or a tree. When I worked at Wal-Mart. They made me use one all of the time and laughed when I told them that I was afraid of heights. Their answer " we all have to get over our fears some time." That sucked, and I'm still not over my fear of heights.
