A man is just about to get a CD out of a cabinet
when the phone in the kitchen rings.
ââ¬ÅHello,ââ¬Â says the man answering it.
ââ¬ÅHi,ââ¬Â says a high womanââ¬â¢s voice.
ââ¬ÅThis is Tiffany, the housekeeper.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅOh,ââ¬Â says the man. ââ¬ÅHi Tiffany.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅHi, Mr. Birschman. Sorry to call so late.
I figured youââ¬â¢d be back later,
so I planned to leave a message.
You see, I had a problem when I was cleaning the bedroom.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅWhat sort of a problem?ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅWell, when I was trying to make your bed,
your envelope of emergency money,
you know, the one you keep under the matress, it fell out.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅWhatââ¬â¢s the problem, Tiffany?ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅWell, I wasnââ¬â¢t sure just where to put it back,
so I justput it under the bottom left corner. Is that okay?ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅYes. Thank you for telling me that, Tiffany. I appreciate it.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅOh, also, when I was vacuuming the living room,
I found that diamond ring youââ¬â¢ve been missing.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅThatââ¬â¢s wonderful, Tiffany! By the way, where did you put it?ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅIn the jewelry box on the dresser, of course.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅAnd how did you lock it?ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅFirst I turned the key to the right, then I pulled it out
and tried the top to make sure it was locked,ââ¬Â says thehousekeeper,
revealing how well she remembered hisinstructions.
ââ¬ÅGood! And where did you put the key?ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅIn the top right cabinet in the kitchen, under the good china.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅFantastic!ââ¬Â says the man, impressed.
ââ¬ÅOh, and I took the courtesy of wrapping the keys
to the Porsche in that adorable little box.
I know your wife isgoing to be so surprised.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅStupendous. Thank you so much, Tiffany.
You are really a great housekeeper.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅThank you, Mr. Birschman, and have a nice night.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅYou too, Tiffany. Good night.ââ¬Â
The man hangs up the phone, turns to his buddy,
and says with a grin,
ââ¬ÅThis is going to be the easiest robbery ever!ââ¬Â
when the phone in the kitchen rings.
