I absolutely LOVE this game. I beat it for PS3 but this time around I am primarily watching my husband play it on the PS4. It's like watching a movie! On another note I read somewhere that they are working on filming an actual movie based on this game. That would be pretty AWESOME I think.

Anyone else like this game?

YES. YES. YES. I got it on PS3, of course, and beat it on each difficulty as well as one more time after that. Then I got it for PS4 and got sucked into the photo mode. I'm definitely going to play it again on a more difficult level, but I do want to play around with the photo mode still.

As for the movie, eh. I'm not quite sure how I feel about them making a movie. I am slightly optimistic that Druckmann is going to write the script and that it's a direct adaptation of the game as opposed to a re-telling, original story. I'll reserve my judgment for when there's more information about it, but for now I'm not sure how I feel about it.

It was okay. Not amazing. From a cinematic and story point of view, I've played better.

From a gameplay standard, it was basically Uncharted in a post-apocalyptic world. They even ripped a lot of character movements from the Uncharted series. The multiplayer was lackluster, and matchmaking was awful.

Definitely not GOTY material.

Fair enough. I know a lot of people who simply don't understand or don't agree with why it was such a highly rated game by the majority of players and reviewers. Not saying it's inherently good because of all of the thumbs up it got, but it's definitely not going to be for everyone.

However, I do have to say that Uncharted and The Last of us--while made by the same developers and same people who worked those games--are very much different in their own ways in terms of gameplay. For instance, the inability to pause the game while crafting items and whatnot, the mechanics are all at least a bit different to offer some significant distinctions.

Quite honestly, even the character development was MUCH more in depth and dark and gritty than in Uncharted (as much as I love the UC series!) I felt much more emotion from TLoU, and that knowing what happened in Nebulousl's life and in Ellie's life gives you a better idea of who they are as people as they cross the US together. And their reason for doing what they do is much more believable than in Uncharted. Don't get me wrong, I love practically everything about UC, but traversing the world for treasure does not mean you should murder dozens and dozens of men. It just comes together so well in TLoU, and there are far less questions I have playing that game.

Again, though, I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me or understand why I love the game. It's a matter of personal opinion, and there's nothing wrong with that.
